Victoria Vox

Victoria Vox, is an award-winning, ukulele-toting, performing songwriter. Releasing "ukulele albums" since 2006, Vox has been one of the leading songwriters on the ukulele scene and three-time cover girl for Ukulele Magazine (USA) and UKE Mag (U.K.).
Vox performs mostly as a one-woman-band, incorporating a loop pedal and bass effect on her Low G ukulele.

Vox is also known for her “mouth trumpet”; a Jazz-era vocal technique emulating the sound of a horn. This odd and quirky talent, nonetheless, landed her on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno in 2009 where she was invited to blow her own horn. In 2015, Vox was featured on the front page (bottom half) of the Wall Street Journal as a leader in the mouth trumpet “revival”. She also writes songs in French, and her music has been used in indie films and heard on indie radio around the globe.

Anything is possible with a ukulele and her infectious pop-folk-jazz style. She loves to make an audience laugh...and cry. Her songs are genuine, sometimes quirky, spanning a wide array of emotions. Originally from Green Bay, WI, Vox has lived in France, England, Nashville, Baltimore, and now resides in Costa Mesa, CA.

Victoria Vox’s new album, Nirvana in REM, is an audio-visual experience of 10 original songs inspired by 20 works of art by visionary artist Fred Stonehouse. “These new songs have an atmospheric quality that is deeply emotional and psychological, as well as hauntingly poetic,” says Stonehouse about Vox’s music. Together, they explore the connection between reality and the nonsensical world of dream logic.

Kelly (Kacey's Music Method)

bio-pic
At the age of 14, Kelly fell in love with the guitar and decided that he wanted to dedicate his life to learning music. At age 22 he also fell in love with teaching children to play music. After some time teaching, he had an idea. Why not marry the two things that he loves best?

Kelly had used many books for teaching children how to play, but he became disappointed with the books that were available. The music seemed dull and boring for children. Realizing that he could create something more inspiring, Kasey’s Music Method was soon conceived!
Kelly published his first book, Kasey’s Guitar Jams for kids, in 2012. This book features full illustrations and fun and engaging music. Soon after he published Kasey’s Guitar Method for Kids to help children to learn to read music. Since then he has branched out and published books for other instruments including the piano and ukulele.

Kelly has two passions, creating music and teaching children. He thinks that notes on a page can only communicate so much. True inspiration comes when the music speaks directly to those that are listening!
Kelly lives with his wife, two children, and two cats in Minnesota.

Well known in her community, Chantelle plays ukulele and percussion, sings and is a dedicated community volunteer.

She started her music journey later in life when she joined the Cranbourne Lions Concert Band in 2008 and started learning percussion. She also joined the City of Greater Dandenong Band in 2010 and has competed with them at several national, state and other brass band contests.

As a percussionist, she has filled in for many ensembles including concert bands, brass bands, orchestras and musical theatre pit bands. She plays drum kit, mallet percussion (xylophone, glockenspiel, etc.), timpani and all auxiliary percussion.

In 2016 she discovered the ukulele, which would forever change her musical journey. This new musical obsession enabled her to sing and accompany herself, and once she started performing at open mics, it was clear that this is what she should be doing. She has since performed as a solo ukulele vocalist at music and ukulele festivals all over Australia. She still maintains a strong connection to her community and also performs at many local events. She also helped form the Balla Balla Ukes, a community ukulele group based in Cranbourne, Victoria.

She generally performs a mixture of interesting original songs and fun singalong covers.

With a passion for jazz, Chantelle has also started singing with jazz ensembles, with a strong emphasis on singing beloved jazz standards.

Chantelle is also a very dedicated community volunteer and often helps with event management, stage management, photography and consulting.

With her debut album, Kat Selman departs from her jazz roots that helped her blossom as a musician and cultivate her unique style which includes a mix of Americana, Brazilian vibes and her own original songwriting. Since graduating with a masters in music from The University of North Texas, Kat has combined her experience as a musician in Spain, Texas, Los Angeles and New York City to grow her delicious-to-the-ears sound.

On her record, Kat Selman presents a mix of original songs as well as a few Brazilian songs which she masterfully sings in Portuguese, and rounds out the collection with a Hank Williams song very dear to her heart. Drummer, producer, and fellow North Texas alum Ross Pederson has helped shape the album from the very beginning. Pederson led a crew of fantastic musicians, including Matt Aronoff, Perry Smith, Vitor Gonçalves and Bob Lanzetti -and also added his own artistry to the project by playing drums and mixing as well as producing the record. Fellow singer songwriter Angela Parrish mastered the project.

Kat was a finalist in the The Sarah Vaughan International Jazz Competition in 2014, and as a college student won several awards from DownBeat magazine in the solo singer category.

Her love of Brazilian music led her to study Portuguese, and she continues to sing Brazilian music in New York and beyond - at venues like the Cornelia Street Cafe, Rockwood Music Hall, as well as in intimate house concert settings. Kat Selman has also toured in Europe as a vocalist with Arid, a trio from Barcelona, Spain with Americana folk and jazz influences.
